The Big Country: Stephen Chambers in conversation with Professor Paul Coldwell This conversation with the artist Stephen Chambers focuses on a new vast printed work The Big Country recently exhibited at the Royal Academy (24 October—2 December 2012) as part of the Artist’ Laboratory series of exhibitions. This work, specially made for the Large Weston Room at the RA explores the idea of a metaphorical mapping of the world from points of departure and the unnamed spaces in-between. Chambers, a graduate of Chelsea School of Art, is both a painter and printmaker whose work has included work for dance (This House will Burn 2001 Covent Garden) and numerous book works.
